I’m coming up on 30 days after the release of Happy Scale w/ Ensembles.

I estimate that hundreds, perhaps thousands, of people are using the sync feature.
80% of my support emails vanished once I finally added sync. It was by far the most requested feature in support emails.
I think I’ve only gotten a single email about a sync issue. It was just a misunderstanding about which iCloud account the user was logged into and quickly resolved. No other issues!!!

At the beginning of this year, I had this huge requirement (add sync) and no clear plan for what to do. My user base had grown to hundreds of thousands of downloads, and I felt this incredible responsibility to give them this feature. At the same time,

I didn’t want to incur ongoing costs,
I didn’t want to maintain my own server and risk a critical bug or get alerted on downtime, and
I just couldn’t find any sync engine that used iCloud and Dropbox but was also easy to implement and reliable.

More than anything else, I needed something that would “just work.” Working on this app is a side project for me, and I couldn’t jeopardize my day job by having to put out fires all day long. My nightmare was that I would release something and start getting 50 emails a day with no clear plan to fix user’s issues.

Ensembles fit my needs exactly. I’m so grateful that you made it. I’m shocked that such a new product could behave like such a mature product!! Your experience with this problem space and appreciation for getting it right really shines through.

The update of the Tyme desktop app and the new iOS app are live and all I get are happy customers. Quite a few of them are wondering why the sync works so smoothly compared to other apps.

Finally I can put an end to strange Apple iCloud bugs and strange PFUbiquitySwitchboardEntryMetadata error messages. Sync as it should be!
